Finding Dory

Finding Dory (2016)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Disney, Pixar

I loved the original movie β€œFinding Nemo” and after the (13 year) wait it was worth it πŸ˜€ ! Favourites from that film are back like Marlin, Nemo and obviously Dory πŸ˜› .Β  Plus we get to see cameos from characters like the Turtles as well which is a nice throw back to the original film. The new characters that were introduced weren’t annoying (though some got close to being annoyingΒ  πŸ˜› ) and were surprisingly likable. I loved Hank the Octopus who was funny because he was so sarcastic. Plus his reason for being in this film was valid and interesting / entertaining to watch. I loved the scene with the parents which can be quite emotional (so prepare for tears). There are some great funny moments in this movie with the seals and the cute otters (you will know the scene when you watch it πŸ˜› ).Β  A really engaging story that keeps you entertained and has some twists (a false trick in the narrative) πŸ˜› . I had a favourite scene but if I told you that would be spoling (though I can hint it’s near the end and has something to do with following the shells πŸ˜› ). Great movie for those who are fans of Disney Pixar and those who are fans of β€œFinding Nemo” πŸ™‚ . Enjoy πŸ˜€

I give this film 4.5 Stars out of 5!

Cars 2

Cars 2 (2011)

Genre: Disney, Pixar, Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Family Film

This is the sequel to the original Cars film (2006) and even though it is mildly interesting…it is nothing compared to the first! I will give them credit for the opening scene as that was different, intriguing and I was hooked from the start πŸ™‚ . They followed a different car film stereotype by making it “Spy” themed which made this narrative different from the original. Which I will give Disney Pixar credit for instead of doing a cheap copy of their first movie πŸ˜› . However, as the film continued the narrative is still entertaining but loses the quality. The message I suppose was a good one to teach but I was complete on McQueen’s side (the first half of film) as Mater was annoying. I agreed that he was acting like an idiot and was painfully embarrassing to watch (even if the character didn’t mean it). Also the ending (when who the real bad guy was revealed) was nice but it had already lost my interest part way through the film. Overall, an okay film for children (especially those obsessed by cars πŸ˜› ) but it is so much worse than film one. Enjoy πŸ™‚

I give this film 2.5 Stars out of 5!

Cars (2006)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Pixar, Disney, Family Film

This is a decent Disney Pixar movie that is probably aimed mostly at boys πŸ˜› . It follows the story of Lightning McQueen who learns the true meaning of family and friendship through meeting some interesting cars πŸ˜› . The graphics aren’t bad but it is truly the characters and the narrative that keeps you entertained. The message behind the story might be a tad cheesy but I quite liked it and it worked πŸ™‚ . The narrative kept me intrigued, I was entertained and when McQueen was in Radiator Springs was the best section. Though the last race near the end (which was my favourite section) was a stunning scene which helped make this film brilliant πŸ˜€ . My favourite characters from this movie is Lighting McQueen and Doc Hudson! This is a charming film that all the family can enjoy (even though it is aimed at boys), it is one of the good films from Disney Pixar and I would definitely recommend you watch this if you’re a fan of them πŸ˜› .

I give this film 5 Stars out of 5!

The Good Dinosaur

The Good Dinosaur (2015)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Disney, Pixar, Children, Family Film

The newest Disney Pixar film about a lost dinosaur trying to find his way home with his adorable critter “human” . This is a pleasant enough film that keeps you entertained throughout and has moments that make you giggle quite a lot πŸ˜› . However, it is hardly anything compared to their most recent film “Inside Out”. This film is definitely aimed at the younger generation and at times they hit the mark as adults and children were laughing in the cinema πŸ˜› . You will definitely see a certain “The Lion King” reference with a pretty different end to a character (won’t spoil πŸ˜› ). However as much as I enjoyed this film, there was a certain dullness to this movie and characters. I wasn’t spellbound, the characters attempted to move me and none of the cast really left an impression. Some areas might be too dark for the children they are aiming for but there are some decent scenes and Spot is a epic companion πŸ˜› . Enjoyable, pleasant enough and worth a watch for Pixar alone but not one of their best. Enjoy πŸ™‚

I give this film 3.5 Stars out of 5!

Brave (2012)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Disney, Pixar

For me this film about a girl wanting to make her own path / changing her fate is fantastic! I love it and I know it has been given some negative reviews from others but it deserves better πŸ™‚ . The animation is great, the comedy for this film hilarious and the narrative is good. I liked that this narrative was about family, magic and bears rather than the typical love stories (involving a prince of some kind). Merida’s personality is wonderful and each character in the film is funny / likable. Mor’du was a impressive bear – quite fearsome and some of the best scenes where with this character. I really liked the magic element of this film and the scenery was amazing (for animation) πŸ˜› Β . Also trying not to spoil anything but the three boys were simply adorable part way through this film (when you watch it you will know what I mean πŸ˜› ! ) A really good film, great for the entire family, that I recommend you watch πŸ˜› ! Enjoy πŸ˜€ !

Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Genre: Disney, Pixar, Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Children, Family Film

The third film about magical toys created by Pixar and Disney πŸ™‚ . It starts off great and gets better the more you watch it! It has all the magic that we would expect from Toy Story with old favourites and new characters. I love the character of Lotso and the relationship with Ken and Barbie is brilliant πŸ˜› ! The humour and the sadness is written wonderfully and you can’t help but feel completely emotional with Andy’s toys. Normally, films after the original aren’t as good but this one has stayed true to form and reignited the passion for these characters πŸ™‚ . So if you love Disney, the original characters of Toy Story (Woody, Buzz and Company πŸ˜› ) and want to see more of them then…this is the film for you! Enjoy!

I give this film 5 Stars out of 5!

The Incredibles

The Incredibles (2004)

Genre: Animation, Family Film, Children, Action, Adventure, Disney, Pixar

The Incredibles is Disney’s version of the superhero movies inspired by the liked of the Watchmen or The Fantastic Four. For a film aimed a children it is brilliant πŸ™‚ . I have loved this film since I first watched it back in 2004 (when I was the target audience πŸ˜› ). The theme in this movie is surprising with some of the things that happened to the superheroes (when you watch it would will know what I mean πŸ˜› ), which is I suppose is the Watchmen influence. I really liked all the characters, my favourites are Jack Jack and Dash! Plenty of Laughs, action and some great scenes like the island and plane section! This film truly is a great animation and it is extremely fun to watch πŸ™‚ . I recommend this movie to Disney, Pixar and Superhero fans alike!! Enjoy :).

I give this film 5 Stars out of 5!
