I was so excited to see this film as I have been a huge fan of the original movie “Pitch Perfect” 😀 . This film is alright and a highly enjoyable watch. The narrative was intriguing enough but I think only those who loved the first will like this. I tried but it felt more nostalgic of see old favourite characters than being excited by the new plot. Though the songs / music of this film is the amazing part 😀 . Some songs you will forget the minute it is over but there some like the end performance (the Bella’s competition song) which is very good and has a epic beginning dance section. The German A cappella group “Das Sound Machine” were good rivals. The Flashlight song is a very good addition but it gets repeated way too much 😛 . There are some hilarious sections like the beginning and Fat Amy’s boat ride (I won’t spoil 😛 ). However, some of the funny sections get an awkward embarrassing quality which spoils the film a bit 😛 . Though that does keep you gripped 😛 . A decent sequel with some great elements that I recommend if you loved the first but just not as good. Enjoy 😀
This is a pleasant enough musical that you can enjoy with your friends (mostly aimed at girls though 😛 ) . Christina Aguilera was really good as Ali, she command attention on screen and within five minutes all I saw was the character 🙂 . Cher was also very good as Tess and her song “You haven’t seen the last of me” was stunning (the scene too 😛 ) . The narrative itself is simple to follow and is a good chick flick / romance comedy by itself. However, what makes this a good film is the dance sequences and the songs. They are quite good 😀 ! The costumes, scenery, lights and overall look of the film works well with a modern musical movie (well what you expect) ! I wouldn’t say this is the best film in the world but it is enjoyable 🙂 . Enjoy 😀 !
This is a lovely film which definitely knows how to bring out the tears in you! It was wonderfully crafted that you ended up laughing with the character and almost (sometimes always) reaching for the tissues! I would not say it is the most action packed film in the world. Plus it really does play to the expectations of a emotional charmer with the theme of romance. Chloë Grace Moretz was wonderful in this and helped the narrative along as she played such a good role! At times the narrative did seem to slow down but personally I think it worked and the shocks in this film would have been good if I hadn’t watched the trailer beforehand. Therefore, I would suggest watching this film but avoid any trailer or review that tells you the plot line! They seriously say too much which could affect your enjoyment of the film! Enjoy!!
A stunning film for anyone who loves dance and film combined 😀 ! I was not expecting much from this movie as it was just by chance that I watched it at all. It is a long film and when you begin, you see wonderful acting of Moira Shearer and Anton Walbrook but you don’t think the film is going to get much more exciting. Then the dance begins 🙂 ! Beautiful colours, brilliant dances and that nostalgia feeling for old fashioned films. The narrative gets more gripping and I am still reeling from the shocking twist at the end 😀 . I loved the symbolism and the connection to the Hans Christian Andersen story. I serious recommend this film to anyone who loves dance, a fantastic narrative and shocking endings! The ending is more captivating then the beginning and will leave you stunned! Enjoy 😀 !!
The song from footloose is the most memorable thing from this movie (Almost everyone I know can sing the lyrics of this song :P) and overall it is a good 80’s movie. However, it was not as good as I hoped it would be. I was expecting to see a film that would have a great story line and I would feel happy when it finished. The story line was okay, Kevin Bacon played his role brilliantly, I liked the dances, the middle section was the best but I was not happy near the end. It felt rushed. We were presented with a fight which was not really a fight then a “lets just dance” (which was good) but the story’s resolution was incomplete. The bad guys feel like they just gave in rather than the lead boy winning. I really disliked the character of Ariel Moore. The scene at the beginning made her seem reckless, selfish and self-centred which did not help the film. I felt nothing for her because of that first scene and even when we were meant to feel more of her, I could not care less. Overall, if you want to see a 80’s movie that makes you nostalgic and something for a lazy day then this is the film for you 🙂 . Personally, it was too gritty for what it was meant to be and I would have liked to see more music and more dancing because isn’t that the point of the movie?
Everyone I knew in my University Class raved about this movie when it first came out. Therefore, I was determined to find out what all the hype was about 🙂 . The narrative is simple but the script itself is what makes this stand out! It has great music! Myself personally, loving the end song of the Bellas however the singing of Benji (Ben Platt) blew me away with “I got the Magic”. The film has plenty of laughs and it has definitely secured itself as one of my favourite films 😀 . Sometimes, I got annoyed at the narrative but that did not last long and Rebel Wilson who played Fat Amy was spectacular! If your a fan of music and like shows like Glee…then this is the film for you!!
This is the sequel to the first Step Up movie and the narrative is easy enough for you to follow that you don’t need to watch the first one :). It is a pleasant enough narrative that is predictable for a dance film but they did play it well between the two gangs. I ended up hating the enemy group and wanted the good guys to give a great dance! The dancing was great and it was exactly how I predicted the film to be. If your a big fan of dance movies and are looking for something pleasant to watch then this is the film for you! Plus you will see the cameo of Channing Tatum and I was happy to notice the guy playing Mike Chang from Glee in the film as well :P.
I was really expecting this film to be dull and with very false actors in and to my surprise, it was better then I imagined. Yes the story line is weak and the comedy element from Meredith’s (the villain) little sister is so annoying…but it overall was not that bad. The story was pleasant and it had tried to captivate the magic from the original franchise but the acting did become false as they tried to “over-act”. I did like the fact they had changed the character of Dylan for this film and as I have said once before, it was not terrible. However, if you don’t mind paying much attention to this film, to have a laugh at with friends about this film (not in a good way :P) and are not expecting big amazing songs…then this is the film for you! Otherwise you are best avoiding this one 🙂 Plus the last song (the song we are suppose to be waiting for)…it starts plain then gets terrible. And I mean Terrible ;P
I give this film (for not being as bad as I thought) 2 Stars out of 5.
