ParaNorman

ParaNorman (2012)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy

This is a movie about a strange boy who has to save his town when zombies appear. You can probably guess how this movie will end but if you prepare for predictability, you will be surprised ๐Ÿ˜› . The narrative was entertaining, captivating enough to keep you watching and was clever as it revealed more about the witch ๐Ÿ™‚ . I loved the beginning section of this film as it threw us into the story while introducing Normanโ€™s gift. The humour is a good and consistent level throughout. The stop motion CGI was executed well and made it appealing to watch ๐Ÿ™‚ . What I really liked about this movie was that its script (narrative) was appealing to both children who itโ€™s aimed for and adults. The comedy in this film takes away any scariness (though it is a childrenโ€™s movie so I wasnโ€™t expecting any ๐Ÿ˜› ). The twist with who the witch is was a nice touch and made you change your opinions of characters as the film continued. I liked the zombies and how the town becomes taken over (trying not to spoil ๐Ÿ˜› ) and my favourite comedy element was the vending machine moments ๐Ÿ˜€ . Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee) was a good character to follow as he was likable even if a little weird. The pace of the movie ran smoothly which helps to keep you captivated from beginning to end ๐Ÿ™‚ . Plus any fan of horror may see some references or chuckle at the jokes about the genre in this film. This is a surprisingly great family film that is suitable for all ages and I definitely recommend ๐Ÿ™‚ . Enjoy ๐Ÿ˜€

I give this film 4 Stars out of 5!
