Albion: The Enchanted Stallion (2016)
Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Family Film, Fantasy
I was not expected much from this movie as I had not heard much about it and decided to just give this film a chance. The best thing I can say about this film is that it is simply alright 🙂 . The story was very predictable but pleasant enough and did keep me fairly entertained throughout. It is a lighthearted fantasy but enough to show you an entire magical world and I did enjoy the adventure style mission. The main character of Evie (Avery Arendes) I actually liked as we got to see her back story and situation plus she stayed true to character 🙂 . Her other companions Eriu (Castille Landon) and Lír (Daniel Sharman) were good too. They did looked very “B-Movie” with their costumes and as much as their characters were okay they were tad cheesy 😛 . Most of the characters had a stereotypical feel to them and cheesiness affected the whole film but that could be a side effect of trying to create an entire fantasy world. The Horse was great and I really liked how Evie entered the world of Albion 😀 . I also really liked when they found The Abbess (Jennifer Morrison) and the character of Eremon (Liam McIntyre) was alright. I did liked the twist with who Evie’s parents are (as its predictability of this movie could have lead it a different way 😛 ) but I wish the film had ended differently. John Cleese was hard to spot straight away as his character (General Eader) is so disgusting but I think he acted him well (as I think the disgusting thing is on purpose 😛 ). Overall, this is a pleasant and fairly entertaining fantasy for the entire family of all ages 🙂 . If you like child friendly fantasy adventure movies than this is for you 🙂 . Enjoy 😀
I give this film 3.5 Stars out of 5!
