Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Family Film

Lots may have good reviews about this animation but quite honestly, I was so bored of this entire movie. Don’t get me wrong, it’s drawn beautifully and moments in this film are quite good 🙂 . I liked the train scene with the horse Spirit (voiced by Matt Damon) as that was done effectively. I have to give them (the director and team behind the film) credit as I did like the horses not being able to speak when human where around. Apart from when Matt Damon speaking the narration of course 😛 .  Also there is a decent soundtrack to this film that is fairly catchy 🙂 . However, as much as I kept watching throughout it wasn’t because it was entertaining. I found most of it boring and cheesy. I got the story and it could have been entertaining but the mute horses were not working for me. I have seen a horse movie where they shown me emotion, heart and dramatic stories and that was called War Horse. This was nothing like it. I mean I did like the character of Little Creek (Daniel Studi) and wished there were more scenes with him 😛 . The character of Spirit I wasn’t impressed with. Everything he did felt predictably cheesy and it ended like I expected. This is a film from Dreamworks that I wish I hadn’t seen and I can’t say I would recommend it. However, it is fairly good enough for youngsters or for those who loved it from their childhood 🙂 . Enjoy 😀

I give this film 2 Stars out of 5!
