The Girl on the Train (2016)
Genre: Mystery, Thriller
This is a decent thriller and had plenty of hype surrounding it. I can’t deny this is a fairly gripping and enticing thriller that had me captivated from the start. I loved the scenes linking all the women together (plus other characters 😛 ) and liked seeing the past events that led up to the mystery 🙂 . I loved that we were following an unstable character and I was gripped (on the edge of my seat) whenever she did something odd 😛 . I felt for her character straight away and throughout which is thanks to a fabulous performance from Emily Blunt! She was fantastic in this and was a stellar actress 😀 . Her acting and make-up (she looked a state but in a good way 😛 ) made this movie and won’t be the same if she wasn’t playing Rachel. Others were good too like Scott (Luke Evans) and Megan (Haley Bennett) 🙂 . However, much as I enjoyed this movie and there are plenty of good things, I have to admit it is not the best Thriller I have even seen. You can’t help but acknowledge Gone Girl (as that been the last thriller on the big screens that was a huge hit) and I don’t know how close this adaption was. But when I was watching this I tried not to allow that to affect me. The pace is at times on the slow side and when the “reveal happens” afterwards the tension isn’t as strong and had an edge of predictability. Though I adored that “Reveal” as I was shocked and it was my favourite part 😀 . This is an almost hit and it is worth a watch 🙂 Enjoy 😀
I give this film 4 Stars out of 5!
