The Magnificent Seven

The Magnificent Seven (2016)

Genre: Action, Adventure, Western

A remake of the classic western and I canโ€™t deny this is a rather good attempt ๐Ÿ™‚ . The film had a nice crisp look while keeping the feeling of an old Wild West setting. The story starts well and creates the dilemma (action) from the outset. There is a great cast in this film Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke plus many more ๐Ÿ™‚ . My favourite character in this has to be Billy (Byung-hun Lee) who was one of the most powerful and his loyalty to Goodnight (Ethan Hawke) was authentic. The main โ€œsevenโ€ all use their screen time effectively and each character felt like they belonged in the team. Odd humour sections are in this film (mostly Chris Pratt who gives some great lines) and plenty of actions as you would expect from a Western reboot. One thing I have to give this film is that it is not afraid to kill characters off though I was disappointed that the better (story wise not acting ๐Ÿ˜› ) characters did not make it. Though I have to admit the ending was quite good, finished well and had a strange nostalgic feeling ๐Ÿ˜› . When the film ended I felt complete and that the story had not missed anything from its plot. The classic music is not in the film but it is in the end credits which I did not mind. I did like the section of the movie where the โ€œsevenโ€ teaches the village to fight back and liked the comradery of the โ€œsevenโ€ (when they get along ๐Ÿ˜€ ). Overall, a great reboot of a western and is probably the best one I have seen so far. It just a shame we lose so many great characters but I guess that is what makes a Western ๐Ÿ˜› . Enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

I give this film 4.5 Stars out of 5!

Justice has a number.
