Star Trek: Beyond

Star Trek: Beyond (2016)

Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

This is the third film in the “new” alternative Star Trek movies and matches up to the previous two πŸ˜€ . The narrative flows on from “Star Trek: Into Darkness” but doesn’t rely on those story lines which is slightly refreshing πŸ˜› . I liked the new characters introduced to this film. My favourite “good-guy” character was Jaylah (Sofia Boutella) as I loved her look, she acted brilliantly, had some funny dialogue and was simply awesome πŸ˜€ . I also liked Idris Elba as the villain Krall who looked impressive as a bad guy. I liked the fact that as the story continued, I actually understood where the bad guy was coming from (and felt sorry for him πŸ˜› ). The action is plentiful, impressive and the final battle sequence is quite captivating. I really liked the invasion scene on the enterprise the best (where the team are spilt up) and the “music attack” was hilarious (when you see it you will know what scene I mean πŸ˜› ). I also loved the banter dialogue between Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Bones (Karl Urban) as this was funny and great to see their characters develop. Overall, a great Star Trek movie that I truly enjoyed though I would have to admit it not as good as the Star Trek (2009) version πŸ˜› . However, that end scene is great and I can’t wait for another πŸ˜€ . Enjoy πŸ˜€

Also RIP to the great Anton Yelchin who played Chekov.

I give this film 4.5 Stars out of 5!
