This is a good film from the Harry Potter franchise but yet again not the best. I liked the look of the film (the overall dark atmosphere), the CGI and how it had followed on from the last film 🙂 . I love the odd scenes and clips of the Death Eaters. Especially, the scenes of them attacking the Muggle World like the bridge (trying not to spoil 😛 ) and I enjoyed seeing some of Dumbledore’s / Tom Riddle’s past 🙂 . It was interesting to see and I liked the CGI / design element of how the images where shown through the “ink in water” effect 😛 . Also I did like the “find the horcrux” scene which does catch your attention. However, other parts of the film where not as captivating, the romances of some characters were awkward and too many things were missed. So many elements were missed from the book which will irritate the most true fan of Harry Potter 😛 . However the twist at the end still plays out well, is dramatic and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) plays a great part. A decent film that will keep you entertained but the worst book adaptation so far. Enjoy 😀
This is one of the least impressive films out of the entire collection but still good in its own right. The graphics are still good, the acting superb as always and it does keep you entertained. However, this film feels a lot like a “information dumping” for anything relevant for further films to explore. That isn’t really a bad thing (being a fan of Harry Potter myself :P) but it doesn’t make itself stand out compared to others. The treatment Harry receives can get a little tedious and at part some scenes are dragged out further than necessary making them appear dull. However, there are plenty of dramatic action packed scenes that make up for these lacking areas. The introduction to the “Order” is an interesting information dump 😛 . The Magic Council scene, Fred and George’s fireworks and the Dementors (trying not to spoil :P) are great scenes. Dolores Umbridge and Bellatrix Lestrange are epic characters 😛 . Also the shocking dramatic “end” for a certain someone is a fantastic scene and is worth watching for that alone! Overall, decent movie but not as fantastic as others in the series. Enjoy 😀
This is my personal favourite out of the Harry Potter movies 🙂 . The beginning starts differently than the previous films and has a darker, ominous atmosphere. There are plenty of hints planted throughout the film to future plot lines which I quite like and the character of Harry Potter improves 🙂 . You really do want him to succeed, feel bad for him when times are hard and laugh at the funny moments. My favourite section is the Tournament! I love the introductions to the BeauxbBatons (Girls Magic School) and Durmstrang (Boys Magic School). The Ball scene is funny (the outfit Ronald wears is hilarious 😛 ). Dumbledore had been replaced by Michael Gambon (since film 3) who plays a convincing yet different version of that character. Each of the Tournament scenes are captivating, interesting and full of action with pretty good CGI (dragon quest might possible be may favourite then the Lake second 😀 ). Plus the ending scene leads on to the next film brilliantly and is a shocker 😛 ! Enjoy 😀
This a stunning legal drama movie based on real events / people. The fact it is based on real people is the captivating element of this film as you are so intrigued you forget it’s not completely fiction 😛 . The acting is superb within this film though the credit belongs to Tom Hanks as his performance is incredible 😀 . Also Mark Rylance (who plays Rudolf Abel) plays a fantastic supporting role 😀 . His last scene in the movie and his overall performance creates a charming character who you can sympathise with. The Exchange scene was my favourite part as it was so tense, dramatic and I really didn’t know how it would play out. The overall film references to historical events such as the Berlin Wall being built and the symbolism later on near the end of the film was pretty cool 😛 . All the characters introduced brought their own contribution to this movie and I wasn’t bored not even once 😛 . A stunning spy film / legal historic drama that I seriously recommend! Enjoy 😀 !
This has one of the best scenes in the movie’s franchise… the Dementors on the train 😀 ! It is a section created just for the movies and it is a unique, thrilling scene which shows how dangerous these new creatures are! We are shown more wonderful Harry Potter creatures and objects such as the Night Bus and the Hippogriff 🙂 . I love Hermione’s time turner section and the danger for BuckBeak. We are also introduced to Professor Lupin and Sirius Black (and the Marauders Map!) 😛 ! I love the opening scene to this film with Aunt Marge as that is really funny and truly keeps you entertained. The graphics are getting better in this film, the drama bigger and the acting of our original cast as gotten better 😛 . However, as much as I would love to rave about this film I can’t get over a bald werewolf! Maybe it is because I read the book but I just don’t understand why the werewolf had to be Bald? Though that aside, a really good third Harry Potter film 🙂 Enjoy 😀
This sequel feels more accomplished and finished compared to the first film 😛 . The narrative takes on a darker feel (which continues throughout the films that follow) which I prefer 🙂 . The story feels more thought out, the problems Harry has to face, the dangers for all the characters and the “Diary” is an epic twist 😛 . This movie keeps you entertained with its darker tale and bigger special effects/ adventures like the flying car and Basilisk 😀 . I would have preferred to have some elements match the book more like the look of the Basilisk. However, that section of the movie (the climatic end battle) was captivating, dangerous, entertaining and memorable (and my favourite part 😛 ). My other favourite scene is the Polyjuice potion and what Hermione changes into 😛 ! The character of Gilderoy Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh) was hilarious and you get to meet other amazing characters such as Lucius Malfoy (Jason Isaacs) and Dobby (voiced by Toby Jones) 😀 ! Also who can’t love the introductions to the entire Weasley family 😀 . A truly entertaining sequel that keeps up the wonder and magical quality of the first movie! Enjoy 😀
This film is truly an amazing film and I may be biased in this review as I am definitely a Fan (books, movies, franchise!) 😛 ! This is a family film I would recommend as it appeals to both children and adults alike with its captivating (Magical) narrative! The acting may not be the best in the world but they suit the characters so well and the style keeps up with the adventure / magical world you would expect 😛 . The special effects, characters, the school life (Hogwarts!) are also good 🙂 . The Music is a classic now and you will recognise it 😛 . I love the opening as it helps create the atmosphere of the movie and my favourite section is the trials to get the Stone (later on in the film :P)! However, it would have been nice to get more elements from the book in this film but with the narrative and movie magic of this movie you can still be entertained. Highly enjoyable beginning to an amazing film franchise that I recommend if you haven’t seen this yet! Enjoy 😀
I was so excited to see this film as I have been a huge fan of the original movie “Pitch Perfect” 😀 . This film is alright and a highly enjoyable watch. The narrative was intriguing enough but I think only those who loved the first will like this. I tried but it felt more nostalgic of see old favourite characters than being excited by the new plot. Though the songs / music of this film is the amazing part 😀 . Some songs you will forget the minute it is over but there some like the end performance (the Bella’s competition song) which is very good and has a epic beginning dance section. The German A cappella group “Das Sound Machine” were good rivals. The Flashlight song is a very good addition but it gets repeated way too much 😛 . There are some hilarious sections like the beginning and Fat Amy’s boat ride (I won’t spoil 😛 ). However, some of the funny sections get an awkward embarrassing quality which spoils the film a bit 😛 . Though that does keep you gripped 😛 . A decent sequel with some great elements that I recommend if you loved the first but just not as good. Enjoy 😀
