I really tried my hardest to like this movie as I hadn’t seen it before and I usually love all Disney Classics. However, I admit defeat that I have found one Classic that probably shouldn’t have been one. The narrative should have been captivating as it had a good basis for one. A young boy off on a quest to defeat an evil tyrant. Should have been good but I was confused and bored. The young girl, Eilonwy, was the most annoying and confusing! I still don’t know whether she was a Scullery Maid or a Princess. It wasn’t too clear, she seemed like a liar and I wasn’t convinced. Also the “cute” Gurgi (I still unsure what it is, is it an animal? Is it a magic creature?) was quite annoying though I did like what he did for the narrative (I won’t spoil 😛 ). There are no songs within this film either. The artwork / scenery colour was alright and the Villain; The Horned King was impressive 🙂 . Much scarier that many other villains and the best thing in the entire movie 😛 . Enjoy 🙂 .
This is a pleasant enough musical that you can enjoy with your friends (mostly aimed at girls though 😛 ) . Christina Aguilera was really good as Ali, she command attention on screen and within five minutes all I saw was the character 🙂 . Cher was also very good as Tess and her song “You haven’t seen the last of me” was stunning (the scene too 😛 ) . The narrative itself is simple to follow and is a good chick flick / romance comedy by itself. However, what makes this a good film is the dance sequences and the songs. They are quite good 😀 ! The costumes, scenery, lights and overall look of the film works well with a modern musical movie (well what you expect) ! I wouldn’t say this is the best film in the world but it is enjoyable 🙂 . Enjoy 😀 !
I was unsure about this film at first but it was surprisingly a decent film about the Kray Twins. It wasn’t a typical gritty gangster films (which mostly go over-the-top and put me off) but a slightly refreshing new take. Tom Hardy was truly amazing as both Ronny and Reggie Kray 🙂 . I surprised at his ability to create two different personalities. They were so good that you forgot it was Tom Hardy and saw his two characters. Emily Browning was quite good too and her onscreen relationship with Hardy was believable 🙂 . The violence in this film actual isn’t that bad (even if it is an 18), I was expecting much worse. I was kept entertained, I loved the background music (Liked seeing / hearing Duffy as well 😛 ) and the background cast were superb. Even though I really liked this gangster film, I have to say it’s one true downfall. It focused too much on Frances Shea than the Kray’s. However, still a good film 🙂 . Enjoy 😀 !!
This is a really good sequel to the Maze Runner 🙂 ! It might even be better than the first 😛 . The narrative was captivating and the action scenes were more impressive / bigger. Though I did miss the simplicity of the first film (just getting out of the Maze! ) . The overall cast chosen where good, they didn’t forget old ones and created believable new ones (Brenda played by Rosa Salazar was my favourite) 🙂 . The monsters were really cool in this and slightly terrifying! Some of the scenes were almost horror film like (though tamer :P). My favourite two scenes were the building in the desert (when you watch you will know what I mean) and the lightning scene! Some of the old cast got given more back-story which I liked. Finally Theresa has a purpose and I actually like this character now 😛 . Can’t wait for the next film in the series!! Enjoy 😀 !

The second instalment of the “Kung Fu Panda” films is better than you imagine and is a brilliant animation. It keeps up the standard the first one and gives a just as good narrative to keep you entertained throughout. I quite like the fact the story gets a lot darker than the first and I quite enjoyed seeing Po’s childhood explained 🙂 . Baby Po is adorable and the “full” scene of Baby Po is one of my favourites 😀 . There is still plenty of comedy in this film and we still see plenty of the old favourite characters as well (they are not forgotten). The new Villain Lord Shen was impressive and might have been even better than the first! His movements are impressive and the fight scenes in movie are brilliant 😀 ! A really good sequel which both children and adults can enjoy! The end scene is such a teaser (a really good one) and leaves you wanting to see the next film! Enjoy 😀 !

One of my favourite animations from DreamWorks because there is a Panda 😛 ! Okay, putting my biased opinions aside this is actually a really good animation. The narrative isn’t too complex yet they put a lot of character development and back-story within this film for more than just one character. My favourite character was Po (Jack Black) as he was funny, likeable and the fact that he is such a “fat” panda who loved food was epic. There is also a great cast voicing the characters in this film; Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogan and Lucy Liu. My favourite scenes (I will try not to spoil) were Po with the fireworks, Tai Lung’s escape and Po’s training with Shifu 🙂 . The visuals in the background and animation quality is very good. I liked the comic/2D style animation at the beginning the most as it was different and made a unique start to the movie. Overall, a brilliant film that the entire family can enjoy together 🙂 . Enjoy 😀 !!
This is an animation film that I have had since I was a child and even after re-watching it recently, I still love it 🙂 . It’s not the best animation in the world but you have to forgive any poor quality for the fact the narrative is generally alright. All the characters are likable as they (are slightly annoying at the beginning) grow throughout the film 🙂 . The music is quite good (some much better than others) as they suit the story and my favourite has to be “Help! I’m a fish” by Little Trees 🙂 . The villain Joe voiced by Alan Rickman was a strong bad guy who gave a decent element of trouble for the main three protagonists. I liked the transformation scene as that was different and the end scene before resolution (trying not to spoil, if you watch it you will know what I mean) was effective 🙂 . Overall this is a really good family film that all can enjoy 🙂 . Children will love it more unless you seen it back in the early 2000 then it’s simply nostalgia 😛 . Enjoy 😀 !
I don’t know what else to say about this film expect that it’s alright. Not alright in a bad way but not in a way that will have me rushing back to watch more. The narrative itself was strange, different but captivating. There were plenty of comedy elements that had me chucking throughout the film 🙂 . My favourite was the “Wolverine Poster” scene as it was just hilarious 😀 . I really liked the perfect balance of comedy and sadness within this film. I cried at too many sections and I really enjoyed (if that is the right word) that they showed the hardship of everyone. That they showed how it effects everyone (Greg) not just the person with cancer (Rachel). The acting of Thomas Mann and Olivia Cooke were amazing 🙂 . The rest of the characters were strange but surprisingly worked for the film 😛 . The film itself was quirky, different and won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Why this film left me with an “alright” feeling was the ending. Personally, it was a little too abrupt for me. Enjoy 🙂 !
This is a sweet film, suitable for the entire family about a young witch from the wonderful Studio Ghibli 🙂 . The narrative was funny, entertaining and had a little bit of drama to the film which had you captivated (for the characters involved) . I really liked the character of Kiki and her cat Jiji who was really funny 🙂 . However, it was a shame that he became rather quiet half way through the film. All the of the side characters were lovely and were a great addition to the narrative though my favourite side character was Tombo 🙂 . His relationship with Kiki was sweet and this character was simply adorable 🙂 . The overall tale is charming, great for the family and with enough magic in it 😛 . One of my favourite moments in this film is a later scenes with the old lady and Kiki (I won’t spoil but let me tell you it is adorable!! ) . Overall a sweet, uplifting anime that all ages can appreciate 🙂 Enjoy 😀 !!
