Peter Pan: Return to Neverland

Peter Pan: Return to Neverland (2002)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Family Film, Children, Disney

This is another of the rare Disney Sequels that actually turns out to be ok 🙂 . The character of Jane is very of the era (early 2000) where she is independent and her individual feelings/problems are relatable to most children (and us adults who haven’t grown up yet 😛 ). Peter Pan is just as likable as he is in the first film and his relationship with Jane is really good. The way these two interact in the film is sweet and helps the narrative along. Captain Hook is still a good bad guy but some of the characters here are maybe a little too cheesy for my liking. It really didn’t match up to the original here. Parts of the narrative were really  good such as “Jane getting into Neverland”, “the references to World War” “older Wendy” and “the scene with Tinkerbell”. That last one was a stunning scene for Tinkerbell (you will know it when you see it). Overall, enjoyable (a little cheesy in sections), nice characters and a good sequel if you love the Disney Peter Pan. Enjoy 🙂 !!

I give this film 3.5 Stars out of 5!
