Anna Karenina

Anna Karenina (2012)

Genre: Drama, Romance

First off the whole reason I was attracted to this film was to see Keira Knightley πŸ˜› . Not because I am a fan of her work but I have seen good films with her in (Pride and prejudice) and she doesn’t disappoint πŸ˜› Actually there was a brilliant range of stellar actors in this film πŸ˜› . Jude Law was even more amazing then Knightly as he played that character so I well I kind of forgot it was him πŸ˜› ! While other cast members just made me think of other shows they were in (Downtown Abbey for example?). I really liked the idea of the “Theatre” design and visual / symbolic references throughout this film. This did make it different but unfortunately where it really worked at the beginning it became obsolete nearing the end. I kept switching from really good “Theatre” reality moments to “actual” reality setting. This didn’t help the narrative. Overall, I liked the story but the scenes weren’t strong enough that the ending didn’t give me a great impression. Personally, I don’t know what could have made this film better. Being more arty or more realistic? Enjoy πŸ˜€ !

I give this film 2.5 Stars out of 5!

It would be a sin to help you destroy yourself.
