The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)

Genre: Adventure, Fantasy

The second installation of the Hobbit films is good, worth a watch and makes us want to watch more πŸ˜› ! However, as much as this film is Epic, dramatic and full of action it was not as good as the first film. Some sections where drawn out too long and by the time we saw Smaug, which was a really small amount compared the rest of the film, it was so close to the end. Don’t get me wrong, this film is great, the Spiders, the scenes with the Necromancer (with Gandalf) and the Dragon was spectacular! Thrauduil (Lee Pace) was Amazing and actually made me like Elves (they were never my favourite in the franchise), Mirkwood was how I expected it (and more) plus it was funny when Legolas sees a picture of baby Gimli πŸ˜› ! The Tauriel thing was okay, I loved her acting (Evangeline Lilly) and she fitted well with the movie but I felt like the “romance” with Kili could have been left out. The lines got a little cheesy and it distracted from the Epic tale of the Hobbit. I hope they get better in the next movie (as a couple) πŸ˜› ! Overall, a really amazing movie, a fix for your inner Middle Earth fan and needs to be watched!! Enjoy!

I give this film 5 Stars out of 5!

Beyond darkness... beyond desolation... lies the greatest danger of all.
