The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games (2012)

Genre: Adventure, Sci-Fi

When I first watched the Hunger Games I was absolutely captivated! So I ran out, brought the book and  began reading :P. What I loved about this film was the narrative, it was cleverly adapted from the book to show the contrasting worlds of the districts and the Capital. I loved the portrayal of the Capital with the bizarre colours and costumes plus showing the sickening horror of what the poor children have to undertake in the Hunger Games. The casting of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark could not have been done better :D. I can’t see anyone but Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson playing these parts :D. Also parts of the film (if you have watched you know what I mean) in the Hunger Games section still makes me cry! The only criticism I have is the ending feels rushed and over too quickly as they put a lot of time and effort in the beginning / hunger games. But that does not take away from the overall film and makes you enticed for the next one! Though I would advise you not to read the book then watch as it does hinder the experience :P.

I give this film 5 Stars out of 5!
